2 Easy Ways to Lose Weight and Improve Your Body Through Exercise
What does it mean to improve your body? How would you know whether you have improved your body or not? Improving your body means enhancing the overall strength of your body in every way: in the way it functions and moves. Basically, if you are able to work harder or better than before then it means that you have improved your physique to an extent. How can you improve your body? By doing exercises of course! In this article I will talk about how to improve your body through exercises.
If you hate doing exercises, you are not alone. Most people I know hate exercises as much as their “JOB”; the only difference is that exercising is entirely optional for them (or so they seem to think), their job is not. Keep in mind that our body was primarily designed not to sit on a couch all day and night but to move around; in the good old days people would hunt for their food so exercising was in a way taken care of and they used to stay healthy and live long. Today, more and more people are discovering the evils of leading a sedentary and lazy lifestyle, such as heart diseases, obesity, etc. If you want to stay fit and healthy, you must make your muscles stronger, and for that, exercising is your only way out!
Okay, so let me now elaborate on exactly what you need to do to fix your body:
a) Strength training: If you are just starting out, you should not be dreaming about making six packs and bulges like your favorite WWE wrestlers. Instead, focus on building lean muscle tissue. If you are suffering from weight gain there is no better cure for you than strength training. Sure, just like anything else, it would look like hard work at first but slowly you will get used to it. Imagine getting rid of your big belly, flabby arms and those love handles? Can anything be better than that, not to mention a healthy and long life that you would get as a bonus? Furthermore, the good news is that you won’t have to work so hard forever; once you have built enough lean muscles tissues it would be easier for you to lose weight as muscles aid in fat burning anyway.
With the help of strength training, you will make your body strong enough to become immune to minor and even some major injuries. If you think you are prone to injury at your job then be sure to follow a strict strength training regimen to make your body fit and strong. With a body so fit you would also find performing your regular activities much easier.
b) Aerobic Training: Okay, I understand if you cannot do strength training exercises. Maybe you have a back injury, sprain in the neck, or perhaps you are way too lazy and think that it is hard work. Well, in that case, you should at least make your body get used to HARD WORK to get it out of its comfort zone. The way to do it is to make your body move as much and as often as possible. Aerobic exercises will not only help increase your body’s tolerance to strength training exercises (which you would be doing later on), it would also improve your heart’s ability to circulate blood and oxygen in your body.
Aerobic exercises don’t have to be hard. They can be as simple as walking a few miles, which you can eventually calibrate to much harder exercises such as bike riding, bungee jumping, skiing, sports, swimming, running, etc. If you are not sure about your body’s tolerance level to exercises or its limitations then feel free to consult a physician first.
