Do you suffer from severe acne and are looking to treating the same? Believe me, you are not the only one on this planet searching for severe acne treatment solutions! My girlfriend had a severe acne breakout once. She purchased almost every acne medication available on the market! Believe me, she was more obsessed with her looks that I was! I soon found out that almost all the medicines she had purchased had similar type of ingredients. No, I didn’t call her a fool (it is not a nice thing to say to women, believe me). Instead, I gave her a bunch of home remedies she can use to cure acne successfully. In this article I am going to share those very same remedies with you!
It is not hard to see why almost all the acne medications are similar to each other. After all, acne is caused when your sebaceous glands produce an excessive amount of sebum and your skin pores are clogged with excessive dirt and grime. Therefore, most of the severe acne medications you will find on the market offer one or more of these functions: reducing the production of sebum (oil), cleansing the skin of the dirt and dust, facilitating the unclogging of the skin pores, etc. Don’t be stupid to invest in expensive cosmetics, soaps, creams, pads and what not! Instead, follow and apply the tips in this article and I am sure that when you look at yourself in the mirror after a couple of weeks, even you will be surprised whether the new you is really you!
Baking Soda: You probably use baking soda regularly for the purpose of cooking. But did you know that it is also a great medicine for severe acne? Simply mix baking soda with water, and apply it on your cyst acne. If it irritates your skin too much, you can add a little amount of salt to the mixture. To clear confusion, let me clarify that I am NOT talking of the table salt you consume with your breakfast! You need the pure sea salt for the purpose.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the best natural remedies available for acne. Being natural, it is totally free from side effects. Apple Cider Vinegar is known to cure acne vulgaris, cyst acne, and just about any other types of acne. It works by balancing the pH level of the skin to normal, so that it becomes easy for you to get rid of acne fast!
Lemon and Mango: Crush lemon and mango and mix the pulp of both fruits together. Apply the mixture to the acne-affected area. Keep the paste on your face for a few minutes after which you can wash your face with water.
Aspirin: There are more functions offered by aspirin than curing your headaches! To use aspirin for severe acne treatment you need to mix crushed aspirin with water and apply the mixture to the affected area. After keeping it five minutes or so, wash your face. Then apply honey to the same spot. Honey not only acts as a moisturizer for your skin but also kills the acne causing bacteria!
Turmeric and Neem: Fresh turmeric (NOT the grounded version you use as your spice) as well as neem leaves can be crushed in order to form a powdery-paste and then applied to the affected area as an acne remedy. Turmeric and neem are excellent not just for treating acne but also for curing any kind of skin allergies! As usual, you should wash off your face after keeping the mixture on your face for a couple of minutes.
Calendula: You may or may not know it, but calendula soaps are really good for acne treatment. Whether you are suffering from acne vulgaris or rosacea, calendula kills the acne causing bacteria effectively. Not only that, they are also great at relieving skin pain and skin inflammation. Calendula is widely used for treating staph infections. Believe it or not, as a pain-reliever calendula is right up there with Tylenol and aspirin; the only difference is that calendula offers its pain relief directly to the skin!
Other Things To Do:
Use An Inexpensive Moisturizer: A moisturizer prevents your open skin pores from getting clogged in future (remember that clogged skin pores result in acne breakouts!). That doesn’t mean that you need to spend an arm and a leg, scrounging for the ‘best’ moisturizer available on the market endorsed by some hot Hollywood celebrity! Forget about those expensive moisturizing creams and lotions you wasted your money on. A simple humidifier or vaporizer would do the job. And if you cannot afford even that, then you can use a really cheap soap called Dove™ to moisturize your skin. Another good but inexpensive moisturizer is CeraVe™!
Use a Well-Cleaned Towel: It maybe a tall order for you but when you are suffering from severe acne breakouts it is good idea to get your towel laundered each time you use it to pat your skin dry. That is because the acne bacteria (strep and staph infections) are known to survive for a long time on damp towels! So, if you don’t cleanse them after each use, you may be re-infecting yourself with the same acne bacteria every time you rub the towel on your skin!
Use Lukewarm Water: In order to wash your face, you should ideally use lukewarm water. Cold water makes the skin pores close and these closed pores may not open up even after the skin has returned to the normal body temperature! On the other hand, hot water makes the skin flakey, and these flakes can in turn clog your skin pores. This is also the reason why you should avoid the excessively hot saunas when you are suffering from acne!
Wear Loose-Fitting Clothes: When you wear tight-fitting clothes, you tend to sweat too much, which in turn can clog your skin pores and worsen your acne! When you are suffering from a case of severe acne breakout, it is recommended that you wear only loose-fitting clothes! I would also suggest that every time you sweat, you cleanse your skin well!
Avoid Facial Scrubs: Skin products such as facial scrubs are too aggressive for your skin. When you are suffering from severe acne, facial scrubs will only worsen your condition, so avoid them like the plague!
Exercise: Along with using the regular acne treatments and remedies, it is also important to make sure that you don’t suffer from acne again. For this, it is essential that your body’s blood circulation goes at a healthy rate. Do anything to move your body: be it indulging in physical sports, jogging, running, biking, hiking, working out in a gym, walking, yoga etc. Always keep your body active and try to avoid the sedentary lifestyle as much as possible!
Detoxify Your Body: A lot of times, poor digestion and acne go hand in hand. If you have a lot of toxic waste buildup in your body, or if your digestive system is infected with bacteria, then it is only natural that you are suffering from acne. First of all, try any of the several detox diets available (for the record, citrus fruits such as lemon, oranges, etc., are great detoxifiers, as are green leafy vegetables) and if that doesn’t help then go to a detoxification clinic for a mild detox! A lot of people have not only gotten rid of acne but even improved their digestive system and skin health by going through body detox programs, so there is no reason why you can’t!
Change Your Diet: Last but not the least, you need to eat a healthy diet, otherwise, no amount of acne medications will offer you permanent relief from acne. Junk foods, spicy foods, foods that mess up your digestive system, gluten, as well as soy are best avoided!
Getting rid of acne, even severe acne for that matter, is not as hard as you think! Apart from what I have listed above, there are many other forms of severe acne treatments available. For more information, [adrotate banner=”3″].
