For many people, acne is a part of the human life cycle; they go through it during their teenage years; they say that it is an indication that the teens are slowly are reaching puberty and eventually, progressing into adulthood. This type of acne usually goes as one steps into adulthood! But there are other types of acne which attacks even adults!
In any and all cases, most types of acne leave terrible-looking scars on your face. Some scars take longer than others to heal, and still, some others take ages to heal without any external help. On the face of it, these scars are quite harmless, but, in an age when we regard physical appearance very highly and beauty is often skin deep, acne can cost you your job, your dating life, your relationships, your social life, etc. As a result, slowly, you start losing your self-confidence and self-esteem!
Anyway, there is nothing to worry about as I am going to tell you about four simple steps I personally use to keep my skin scar-free!
Step 1: Cleaning The Face: Keep in mind that our skin is extremely sensitive to any kind of bacterial infection; being delicate, skin tissues are extremely vulnerable to bacteria attacks. Therefore, it is very important to keep your face clean at all time. Make sure you wash your face with clean water, both before going to bed at night and after waking up earning morning! I would suggest using lukewarm water if you can as they are not only good for your skin pores (and bad for the germs lying around it, obviously) but also offers you a warm feeling that cold water does not!
If you want, you can use a cleanser too, but make sure your cleanser is totally herbal! A lot of cleansers these days contain harsh chemicals that can damage your skin greatly and rob your skin of its natural oil, yet they are being marketed as ‘herbal cleansers’. You should do your research well to make sure you are choosing the right product for your skin! Another thing to keep in mind is that your chosen cleanser should be suitable for your skin; if you are unsure, then talk to a dermatologist first!
Step 2: Exfoliating Your Skin: Over time, cells die and a lot of these dead cells stay on your skin for some time before being discarded by the skin’s newer tissues. To speed up the regeneration process of your skin, you should perform the exfoliation artificially at least once every seven days, using a special exfoliation lotion or scrub! This would remove the old and dead skin cells from your skin and facilitate the generation of newer, healthier skin cells!
Step 3: Applying a Gentle Scar Cream: Just like with cleansers, it is important to choose your acne scar cream well. A lot of creams and lotions contain very strong chemicals that could damage your skin beyond repair. Use a cream or lotion that is made up of only natural substances. One natural cream I can suggest for acne sufferers is the Zenmed acne treatment kit: while it is quite ‘harsh’ on acne scars (it exfoliates the scars in order tor remove them from the skin’s surface), it is extremely benign on the skin; as far as I know, Zenmed acne treatment kit is 100% natural!
Step 4: Using a Moisturizer: Using a moisturizer is a must for your skin, more so if you have recently undergone through any kind of acne scar treatment that exfoliates your acne scars in order to remove them. A good moisturizer helps to restore the youthful suppleness and health of your skin, as well heal any kind of wounds. It is very important to choose a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin! Water-based moisturizers are generally best for almost everybody, no matter what your skin type, and oil-based moisturizers should be avoided at all costs!
A number of people believe that moisturizers make acne worse. Well let me tell you, that is just a stupid myth!
