8 More Natural Remedies For Getting Rid of Acne!

NOTE: This is a continuation of this article!

Honey: Honey has dual benefits! Just like oatmeal: it not only kills the acne bacteria but also removes the acne scars from your skin. The honey-based treatment is quite similar to the oatmeal powder treatment: apply honey to the affected area, leave it on the skin for at least 10-15 minutes, and then wash it off with clean water.

Aloe Vera: You may or may not know it, but the gel found in the Aloe Vera leaf is a great remedy for acne: it not only removes the acne scars (so that new, healthy tissue can replace it) but also relieves your skin from irritation caused by acne. The gel should be applied to the affected area and left on the skin for at least an hour, after which you can wash your face with clean water!

Tea Tree oil of Australia: Tea Tree oil of Australia (from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree) is also known to treat acne; its disinfectant and anti-bacterial properties not only kills the acne bacteria but also (with regular use) makes you immune toward further bacterial infections and attacks.

The Sandalwood-Black Gram Combo: Sandalwood helps reduce the irritation and inflammation of your skin. Mix sandalwood and black gram with either milk or rose water, then apply that paste on to the affected area of your skin. The best time to apply this paste is bedtime, so that the paste can be left on your skin for the whole night! Once you wake up in the morning, you can wash off your face with cold water!

Neem: If you are in India, you are in luck, as this tree is grows really well in the Indian climate. If you don’t stay in India, see if you can borrow a Neem sapling from a neighbor or friend, and plant it in your garden; you won’t regret it, I assure you! Besides being useful for acne, the medicinal properties of Neem are helpful in treating a lot of different ailments and diseases! If you can take Neem juice orally, great – but it is too bitter, so if you cannot consume it, at least apply the juice on to the affected area regularly! If you use it both orally and topically then your pimples should go quickly and your acne-ridden skin is guaranteed to heal faster! On top of that, regular intake of Neem should prevent further attacks of bacteria and fungi!

If you are out of luck as far as getting a Neem plant is concerned, then try one of the “Neem supplements” or “Neem products” available off-the-shelf – I mean, Neem oil, Neem soap, etc. Of course, not all products are created equal – some are more effective than others. Just one note: women who are trying to conceive or those who are pregnant MUST NOT take Neem or products containing Neem!

Ice Cubes: Ice cubes not only soothe your skin, it also tightens the pores of your skin; ice cubes are also helpful in reducing the redness of the skin caused by acne! The treatment could not be simpler: take an ice cube and run it gently on to the affected area!

Baking Soda: Did you know baking soda can help you get rid of acne? Well, it is true, which is why it is used to exfoliate the skin during the Dermabrasion treatments! Mix baking soda with water and apply it to the affected area; leave the paste there for one minute, and then cleanse off the area with water. After exfoliating your skin, you should use a natural moisturizer (olive oil is recommended) to restore the smoothness and tightness of the skin!

Garlic: The anti-bacterial properties of garlic are helpful in neutralizing the acne bacteria. Grind garlic into powdered form and apply it on the affected area. Do it for 7 days straight and I am sure that your acne scars would vanish like they were never there!
