Goodbye Acne – Top 10 Secrets to Treating Acne Successfully – Part 1

Finding an acne treatment is no big deal. Your local drug store would easily hand over a dozen new drugs, creams or lotions every time you visit it. A lot of them contain benzoyl peroxide which of course helps you cure acne. But the main thing to understand is that: none of these medications will help you get rid of acne for ever if you don’t follow a sensible, balanced lifestyle consisting of the following rules:

a) If you use soap for washing your skin, use a gentle, natural soap that is free from harmful chemicals. Even more importantly, you should not rub your skin hard with the soap or else it would make your acne condition even worse. You need to be gentle with your skin whenever you are using the soap. In fact, I would recommend that you use liquid soaps if possible because they are really much better for your skin.

b) When a particular area of your skin has suffered inflammation there is no need to panic over it. I know that it is easier said than done but you need to hold on your panic button for your own safety. Pricking or even touching the inflamed area unnecessarily makes your condition even worse. Just make sure that you wash the affected area with water every time you get up from bed and go to bed; that should be more than enough for you.

c) Most of us have it in ourselves – if we spot a pimple somewhere on the skin, we instinctively tend to prick it. Or if there is a blackhead or black spot then we try to squeeze it as hard as possible in the hope that it would be burst open. Reality however is far from what you think. Squeezing and rubbing these blackheads only worsens your acne condition, so try to avoid the temptation even if you feel absolutely overpowered by it.

d) Makeup is sometimes necessary evil, be it to keep your job or attend a party and look good there. Whenever possible, try to use facial foundation rather than a hardcore makeup, because the former doesn’t affect the deeper layers of our skin all that much and can also be easily peeled off or washed away with water. Even if you have to use makeup, use light water-based products only; don’t go for heavy makeup because it is harder to get rid of, and more importantly, certainly DO NOT go to bed with your makeup intact. I will say it again, DO NOT ever forget to get rid of your makeup before you go to bed at night, or else you may wake up in the morning with dreadful pimples all over your face!
